Founded by John Laub, CPA, CMA, CFA, NevBio (Nevada Biotechnology & Health Science Consortium) has become a driving force behind Nevada’s biotechnology and health science ecosystem. With a vision to position Nevada as a national and international hub for innovation, research, and entrepreneurship, John launched NevBio to unite leaders from business, government, and academia.

John brings decades of experience in finance, startups, and innovation, including four years at Deloitte and executive roles in various technology and life science ventures. A lifelong advocate for economic development, he currently serves on the Las Vegas Regional Economic Council, the UNLV College of Sciences Advisory Board, and the UNLV Intellectual Property Committee. His entrepreneurial roots run deep—his grandfather was the founder of Southwest Gas, the three-state utility that continues to power the Southwest today.

Through John’s leadership, NevBio has built robust alliances statewide, nationally, and internationally—fueling job creation, company relocations, and cross-border collaborations.

NevBio’s reach extends far beyond Nevada. Its International Relations Director has hosted foreign delegations and facilitated academic and business partnerships with institutions around the world. Whether introducing global biotech leaders to Nevada or guiding startups into international markets, NevBio plays a vital role in advancing global scientific exchange.
