At the heart of Evrim Ağacı is Çağrı Mert Bakırcı, Ph.D. A passionate science communicator, author, and scientist, Çağrı founded Evrim Ağacı in 2010 while studying at Middle East Technical University (METU). He later earned his Ph.D. in Evolutionary Robotics and Artificial Intelligence from Texas Tech University.

Çağrı started Evrim Ağacı to fill a critical void: the lack of reliable, accessible, and comprehensive scientific resources for the Turkish public. At the center of Uvolution is George J. Chanos, Esq., a man who’s spent decades studying change—and learning how to make it work for people. A former Nevada Attorney General, George is also an author, speaker, and mentor who’s been called a futurist and a visionary.
